World's Next tallest building Jeddah tower

Jeddah Tower, previously known as Kingdom Tower and Mile-High Tower.

The construction of Jeddah tower started on April 1,2013. The Jeddah Tower was initially planned to be 1.6 kilometers high, but later on its height was planned to be almost 1 kilometer (more than 3281 feet), almost 564 feet higher than Burj Khalifa. This is the least expected height of Jeddah Tower, as the officials have not announced its planned height. Its style is Neo-Futurism based.

Jeddah Tower is estimated to complete at the end of year 2019.
Jeddah Tower's design was created by an American architect Adrian Smith. Ardian Smith is the same person who designed Burj Khalifa. The creator and leader of this project is Saudi Arabian Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal. Al Waleed is the nephew of late King Abdullah. An other fact about Al Waleed Bin Talal is that he is the wealthiest person in the Middle East.

The owner companies of this mega project are Kingdom Holding Company, Abraar Holding Company, Abdulrahman Hassan Sharbatly and Saudi Binladin Group.
Jeddah Tower will cost 4.6 Billion Saudi Riyals;US$1.23Billion (based on preliminary data.)

Features of Jeddah Tower:

Jeddah Tower is going to be world's next tallest skyscrapper. Its height will be more than 1000 meters and 3281+ feet. Jeddah Tower has a triangular foot-base, designed so to reduce wind pressure on the building. The high surface area makes it ideal for residential units. The 23 hectare (57 acre) area around Jeddah Tower will contain public space and a shopping mall, as welal as other
residential and commercial developments, and be known as the Jeddah Tower Water Front District, of which, the tower's site alone will take up 500,000 m2 (5,381,955 sq ft).

The building will have a total of 59 elevators, and out of these 59, 5 elevators will be double-deck elevators, and 12 escalators. The elevators that will be used in Jeddah Tower will be the fastest elevators, they will travel at a speed of 10 meters per second,  which is almost 33 feet/second, or over 35km/hour. Which means that if the building has a height of 1km, the escalator will travel from bottom to top in less than 2 minutes.

One interesting thing is that largest crane in the world will be used for the construction of Jeddah Tower. The tower will comprise of over 200 floors. The tower will also feature a 98ft diameter outer balcony, named as the sky terrace, on one side of the building for private use by the penthouse floor at level 157.

It was originally intended to be a helipad, but it was revealed to be an unsuitable landing environment by helicopter pilots.
